The under 13 year olds have race in South Africa for the 2010 BMX World Championships and have heard news late last night that Aislynn Weber placed 5th!!

I have attached the Calendar of events for August 2010 and an information page for what’s going to be happening in the next few weeks with the Track and any closures for Track changes.

Working Bee – this Wednesday & Thursday from 4pm.
Unfortunately same story every year the showies have not been kind to our facilities and the weather on top of it does not help. We are having a working bee this Wednesday and Thursday afternoon commencing at 4pm.
So if you can spare a couple of hours on either of these afternoons it would be greatly appreciated. We have a few of the committee still away so we need as much help as we can get.
Friday Racing – 30th July 2010
Due to the Track Attack Carnival being cancelled club RACING is back starting Friday 30th July. Normal registration times apply before 6.30pm and racing to start at 7pm.
Practise times are
6.00pm to 6.30pm – ALL age riders & cruiser classes
6.30pm to 6.45pm – ALL Pro Riders
6.45pm to 7.00pm – ALL Sprockets
Also ensure you have nominated on time for your class. You can nominate in person at the window from 5.30pm to 6.30pm or Phone nominations up until 6pm.
Atherton Racing – sundays
Don’t forget that Atherton will be having their racing on Sunday mornings . Please see below for more information.
Festival Parade – Cairns Esplanade
Mark your calender Saturday 21st August 2010……Cairns BMX Club is participating in the Festival of Cairns Parade. What better way then to walk / ride the streets of Cairns showing people what an awesome sport BMX is and also what a great looking bunch of people we are!
If you are on the creative side and have a few ideas for our float please send Fiona an email with your ideas to fmundie@bigpond.net.au. We are hoping all riders from sprockets to our seniors get behind this idea and show our true club spirit.

Unfortunately the Triple Track Attack Carnival has been cancelled, numbers were very low so we have decided to cancel this event.
We will be refunding everyone who has nominated for this carnival in due course.

The nomination forms for the 2010 BMX Qld Championships held at Mackay in September are now out!
Don’t forget, you must ride the Qld Championships to be able to race the BMX Nationals that are held in Cairns, April 2011.

Just wanted to remind you that Atherton BMX Club will be racing over the school Holidays. The only weekend they will not be racing in the next few weeks is the weekend of Townsville carnival. (17/18th July)
Registration is between 9.00 – 9.30am, racing starting at 10 am sharp. If anyone is running late they can call Gayle Atkinson on M.0437 197 122 and I will put them in or if they want a weather update.
I know there is a lot are riders that don’t want to be off the track for that long so would love to see Cairns riders up our way..
BMXA members are coming to Cairns this Friday night, we want as many riders as we can to show them what a fantastic club we have and why we are one of the biggest clubs in Australia.
This is our last points night for a month so come down, get some racing in (we will be having a pit bike race too!) and don’t forget to pick up your new Cairns BMX Jersey’s.
The Jerseys have finally arrived and they look great so please collect your jersey from the Pro Shop if you have ordered one.
This Friday night is our last race night until the Triple Track Attack on the 30th July, see nomination forms under events or the BMX FNQ Website for online registration, so the club has decided to have some pit bike races, so drag those little (16″) bikes out of the shed and bring them down the track for a race.
