2012 ECU Australia BMX Far North Queensland Championships are being held in Cairns on 9/10th June 2012 and the nominations have extended to Friday 18th May 2012, see Dee at the Cairns Office.

Jerseys & Polo Shirts Order – in by Friday 18th May 2012.

We are now taking orders for Club Jerseys with the riders name and race number on the back – cost $65 each. We are hoping to place the order next week so orders and payments are to be made on Friday night.

Also, something new is polo shirts in the same design as the jerseys.

Cost is the same but great for the mums and dads to feel a part of the club when we travel etc. These can also be printed on for eg: Team West 57.

Tuesday Training – 5.00 – 8.00pm – All Riders 8 & over.
Wednesday Sprocket Coaching & Training – 5.00pm.
Friday – Racing – 7.00pm.
Atherton Carnival – 19/20th May 2012

We are now going to start checking bikes for the training stickers so if you have not paid your yearly training fee of $25, then please see the girls at the office.

New Training Fees letter to Club Members

TUESDAY TRAINING – 5.00pm – 8.00pm.

No Sprockets

5.00 – 8.00pm – All riders 8 years & over.

WEDNESDAY SPROCKET COACHING AND TRAINING – 5.00pm – 6.00pm

There will now be coaching sessions run from 5.00pm – 5.30pm with open practise from 5.30 – 6.00pm on a Wednesdays for the sprockets.

FRIDAY RACING – 7.00pm

You will need your Licence Card for registration and number plate for scoring.

Practise times are:

6.00pm to 6.30pm – ALL age riders & cruiser classes

6.30pm to 6.45pm – ALL Pro Riders

6.45pm to 7.00pm – ALL Sprockets

Registration closes at 6.30pm and racing starts at 7pm

Working Bee – Thursday 10th May 2012

We have noticed of late that the club surrounds of the track are not looking as pristine as we normally like to keep it. As our next working bee is not until the 2/3 June we have organised a quick working bee for next Thursday 10th May from 4pm and we are saying it will be done by 6pm if we can get some helpers.

Just some items that we need doing are:

General tidy up of grounds picking up any rubbish and rocks etc
Removal of vines that are growing on fenceline
Mowing and whippersnippering of general area
Emptying of rubbish bins
Sweeping of leaves from start hill and 2nd berm

These are things that everyone can help with so we need to see you there next
Thursday 10thMay, who knows if we get enough help we may be done in the hour!!!

Jamie Gray is coming Back!!

That’s right – Jamie Gray has decided to return to Cairns and get some more coaching into our riders. He will be here the week of the FNQ’s so what a great time to perfect those skills in time for this great event.

Sessions are 2 hours @ $35 per rider and the following sessions are available:

Tuesday 6th June from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (general club coaching will start half an hour later than usual)
Wednesday 7th June from 3.30pm to 5.30 pm (sprocket coaching will start half an hour later than usual)
Thursday 8th June from 3.30pm to 5.30pm AND 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Friday 9th June from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (racing starts at 7.00pm)

Mark you calender now!!!! BMX racing will be at it’s best on the 9th & 10th Juneat Cairns BMX track for the 2012 Far North Queensland Championships.

With ony 5 weeks to go things are starting to heat up with all clubs in the region having riders participate.

This request is if anyone is interested in sponsoring trophies for a class of riders. We are needing sponsors for all sprocket groups along with age groups.

For only $150 you will receive in return:

Your family name or business name on each trophy in your group
Your family name or business logo in the programme
Race calls advising of your sponsorship
Banners can be displayed at event

BMXQ Online Proposal

Proposal from BMX Queensland is to unify Club membership and move to online membership through the BMXA website.

All State’s and Territories have online memberships available through BMXA except Queensland and Northern Territory.

BMXA would like BMXQ and therefore all clubs to become part of the Online system for Membership.
